NDA govt under Prime minister Modi in his first term focussed particularly on Make in India, Startup India, Skill India, and so on to fight from the unemployment but unemployment is getting worse throughout his terms ( Approx 24% unemployment rate till May 16, 2020)
This should be noted as what went wrong in India's policy that has widened economic inequality ( As per Oxfam report 2019, the top 1% population holds 73% of total wealth)
Now "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" version which has open all sectors to private players may just enlarge this inequality graph of India. Market forces are acting in favour of urban India but our rural India is still suffering from poor public infrastructure and public distribution system.
Strengthening a few business tycoons may not give sustainable economic boost untill and unless 1.3 billion consumers have enough earning to balance supply and demand. So, the present government must rethink before handing over all sectors to one particular section of the society.
